Set to Give Financial Assistance
Sweetwater,
Texas (June 13, 2006) – The Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic
Development Corporation (SEED) Board of Directors has approved
and will make recommendations to the Sweetwater City Council for
a $50,000 forgivable loan over a five year period in order to
assist the development of seven new jobs created by Advanced Turbine
Services, an existing company that has recently relocated to Sweetwater.
Advanced
Turbine Services’ primary function is to support the growth
and service of wind farms. Advanced Turbine Services has purchased
the Sweetwater Fire Extinguisher manufacturing building and the
three lots adjacent to that building. The loan will support their
primary needs of capital for major equipment such as service vehicles,
forklifts and factory training for new employees on the turbines.
Currently
servicing a large number of clients covering a good portion of
the United States, including Utah and Florida, Advanced Turbine
Services is turning away area clientele due to lack of staff.
The seven jobs assisted by this forgivable loan will allow them
to move forward in the Sweetwater area.
Bob
Ochoa, President of Advanced Turbine Services, has recently relocated
with this family to Sweetwater. Says Ochoa, “We are thrilled
to relocate to Sweetwater. This area is vital to the alternative
energy industry and we can think of no better place to call home!”
The
Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development Incorporated (S.E.E.D.)
mission is to facilitate a transitional move to this forward-thinking
area. S.E.E.D is prepared for the challenge of maintaining consistent
economic growth, including the creation and retention of jobs
in Sweetwater. As a 4A organization, S.E.E.D. is focused on providing
businesses the best opportunity for the growth, thereby ensuring
consistent economic growth for this area.
