Looks to Hit a Homerun at the 2008 WindPower Conference
Given the rapidly growing wind energy market, Sweetwater Enterprise for Economic Development, Inc. (S.E.E.D.) looks to prove it is a national big hitter at the 2008 WindPower Conference, which will begin June1, in Houston, Texas.
The United States wind energy industry invested approximately $9 billion into the economy in 2007, according to the American Wind Industry Association. With $4 billion in wind investments, seven different types of wind turbines, including big name providers such as GE Wind, Mitsubishi, and Siemens, and one-third of the nation's megawatts of wind power produced in West Texas, it is critical that S.E.E.D. establish itself at this conference as the primary go-to company for wind energy.
The conference will host 750 companies from around the nation, with 9,000 wind energy professionals in attendance. With a baseball-themed booth and campaign ready for the four-day conference, S.E.E.D. is interested in demonstrating the impact West Texas has on the wind energy industry as one of the nation's leading areas of wind energy production. S.E.E.D. also plans to increase awareness of the opportunities available through S.E.E.D. and Texas State Technical College (TSTC), which offers local industry training through its Wind Energy Technology Program.
The S.E.E.D. mission is to facilitate a transitional move to the forward-thinking industry of wind energy. S.E.E.D. is prepared for the challenge of maintaining consistent economic growth, including the creation and retention of jobs in Sweetwater. S.E.E.D. is a 4a organization and is focused on providing businesses with the best opportunity for growth.
