Events occur every weekend at the Nolan County Coliseum from rodeos to rattlesnake roundups. You could visit the statue at Avenger field commemorating the ladies who flew during WWII or take a walking tour of the places downtown listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You could spend a day at the Pioneer City-County Museum looking at over 800 arrowheads, dinosaur relics, antique automobiles, and much more.

In a town complete with parks, golf courses, and lakes, recreation is sweet indeed.

When you aren’t celebrating your faith, you might see some of the local wildlife which includes the white-tailed deer, mallard duck, raccoon, and armadillo. Lake Sweetwater, Lake Trammell, and Oak Creek Lake, the three large area lakes are home to crappie, perch, catfish, Texas-sized bass, striper, and redfish. Hunters find deer, turkey, quail, dove, and other wild game in the surrounding areas.

Sweetwater is home to the KXOX radio station; and KRBC, KTXS, KTAB, and FOX television stations. You’ll find all the latest news in the Sweetwater Reporter, the local newspaper.
